Livin' for Friday
I can’t be the ONLY ONE who has ever lived for FRIDAY and CRINGED on Sunday night. If you can pick up what I am talking about, you KNOW (I see you nodding your head).
I am talking about working in a role, in a company, and/or under the supervision of a boss that you did not desire to be under or a place where you do not want to be. And it’s not in alignment with your purpose, passion nor interest (anymore). Sometimes instead of looking for your next move, you are remaining where you are. You stay because you are afraid of going somewhere else and it being the same. Or you don’t know what you want next and you just feel lost and miserable. While you are in that place, your “livin’ for Friday” becomes your goal. If I can only make it to Friday, but Sunday does come and you CRINGE. Anxiety rises and you wish you could be like Dorothy from The Wiz of Oz and tap your shoes together.
You are SO distracted by what you don’t like and how you feel that you lose sight of your purpose and pursuing that! What you are focusing on becomes BIGGER. The dysfunction clouds your view from seeing life clearly. The hurt, disappointment, and sadness settle in and grief takes over.
I’ve been in your shoes before, Livin’ for Friday and CRINGING on Sunday to the point of losing sleep and waking up tired. I began to pray, seeking God for clarity on what’s next. Then I took a look at myself and asked the woman in the mirror, what do you want? Where do you want to be? Then GO FOR IT!
It’s time to BREAK the CYCLE of livin’ for Friday and CRINGING on Sunday.
Are you livin’ for Friday?
What do you want?
Where are you now?
What is your immediate next step?
Hugs to you! It’s not EASY breaking cycles but it’s WORTH it! It’s worth your sanity. Let’s live with joy!
