Journey to the Altar Part 4: Where my girls at?!
Hey sister,
Do you have a bestie? A Squad? A circle? Sisters? Think about it. Whose there to hold you down in the rough seasons as you prepare to be a wife.
The journey to the altar can sometimes look bleak, be discouraging and lonely. When you need encouragement who do you call on? Where are your girls?! The ones who remind you that you are special. That you are wonderful. The ones who you call to go on lunch dates. Where are your girls?! The ones who can be a listening ear, share some wisdom and uplift you when you are questioning your value and your worth.
Having a circle of women surrounding you on this journey is critical. They hold you accountable for not settling for any man that presents himself to you. They keep you sane when you "thought" he was the one. They are your prayer partners when your heart is sick of trying to do things your way.
Where are your girls?!
Who are your girls? Are they on the journey with you? Are they single too? Or maybe married and can give you a sneak peek at what it's like to be a wife? Or are they hooking up with guys to feel a void? Check your circle ladies! Take an inventory of who you have close to you.
Are these the same girls you want to serve as your bridesmaids? Will they be able to support you in that way and beyond.
I was surrounded by amazing loving women who reminded me of my future. They held me accountable for everything I said I wouldn't do.
Make sure to be there for your girls too. We all need support and it looks different for everyone.
